Jay’s grade eight math teacher was not his biggest fan.

To the teacher’s chagrin, Jay would come up with alternative ways of solving problems, instead of doing them the way he was “supposed” to. Many years later, this innate desire to do things differently – something Jay and his team call higher level innovative thinking – is what makes Ocean 6 unique. They are in this business because they are driven by the excitement of delivering innovative strategies that help their clients win.

Understanding his business owner client’s full financial picture, Jay comes up with innovative strategies to reduce taxes, increase wealth, and plan for the efficient transfer of wealth from one generation to another. A graduate in corporate finance from the BC Institute of Technology, he is a Certified Financial Planner® professional, and holds the Chartered Life Underwriter and Certified Cash Flow Specialist designations.

Jay loves travel – especially to Hawaii – and spending time with his son, Leo and his daughter, Ever. He also volunteers his time for mentoring and assisting other advisors in developing solutions for their clients. Jay doesn’t just want to make a difference. He wants to make a profound difference.
